| Actor Fernando Vasquez, who played in the Univision soap opera "Soledad" as a killer, will play a soccer coach in America TV's new soap opera "Así es la Vida" (The Way Life Is). The soap opera focuses on a variety of stories of different families in a neighborhood called Aguilar. The story line on the soccer coach, Cartucho Valderrama, is that he is rehabilitating a one-time famous major league soccer player who suffered an injury and became forgotten. |

The coach trains the soccer player while playing in the minor leagues, hoping that some day -- based on his training -- he will be back in the major leagues as a star once again. "I hope he will play again in the major leagues," Vasquez said. The new soap opera airs at 8 p.m. Monday to Friday in Peru on the America TV channel.
There has been no word if the show will be picked up for broadcast in North America. | |
