Bush nominates envoy to Peru

WASHINGTON - President George W. Bush on Tuesday nominated James
Howard Yellin as ambassador to Burundi, and John R. Dawson as ambassador
to Peru.
Yellin currently heads to the State Department's office of Central
African affairs. He served as special envoy to the Great Lakes region
from 1999 to 2001 and worked as deputy chief of mission in Burundi from
1995 to 1999.
Dawson is director of the State Department office of Mexican affairs.
He previously served as deputy chief of mission at the U.S. embassy in
El Salvador. He also was economic officer in Panama and Costa Rica.
