From Spain, ambassador Fernando Olivera and leader of the FIM (Moralization Independent Front) political party declared that he won't surrender to the opposition. On the contrary, he declared himself to be a victim of political persecution.
"They don't forget me for finishing with Fujimori and Montesinos mob regime," he said.
He commented that without any proof, they want to politically destroy him, so later they can say that all politicians are guilty but have never paid a price.
"They want to destroy my image and ties with political party Peru Possible (Toledo's party) so this way they can finish with Toledo's government", he said.
"They have nothing of nothing to accuse me."
He said he was named as a suspect on trafficking of influences on obtaining the money-exchanging video of (Television station owner) Ernesto Schultz and Montesinos. "The justice is backwards," he said.
The "Almeyda case" has become the "Olivera Case," he added. He is questioning why judges don't focus on the investigations of the ex-intelligence chief.
Cesar Almeyda, ex-intelligence chief, who until March headed Peru's spy agency and served on the board of stock regulators, will face a congressional probe of possible corruption.
Olivera is known for his strong comments and investigations against corruption, specially of old political parties as Alan Garcia's APRA. Garcia's party said earlier that they will put pressure on the judges to investigate Olivera's phone records.
