How sweet!

(Nov. 18, 2004) Peru's victory over rival Chile in a World Cup Germany 2006 qualifier was celebrated by everyone in Peru.  Fans ran into the streets after the game was over, forming noisy caravans of cars that circulated in the main plazas of the principal cities of Peru. The Pacific Classic, played in front of a full house at the National Stadium, in Lima, ended 2-1 in favor of Peru.

Peru still has dreams of qualifying for the World Cup competition. The top five teams in South American will qualify to represent the continent. The current status of the qualifying list is as follows. Next up for Peru is a home match with Brazil in late March 2005.
